ABEI (4-Acetamido-4′-isothiocyanatostilbene-2,2′-disulfonic acid) is a compound belonging to the class of fluorescent dyes. It is commonly used as a labeling reagent in biochemistry and molecular biology to detect and quantify proteins and other biomolecules. ABEI can be attached to the amino groups of proteins or peptides and will generate a strong fluorescent signal when excited by light of a specific wavelength.
